WHAT IT IS

PRP — Platelet-Rich Plasma — is a regenerative injectable treatment that uses your body's own biology to rejuvenate the skin. A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm, processed in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets and growth factors, and then reintroduced to the skin through injections or in combination with microneedling. Platelets are the cells in your blood responsible for healing and tissue repair. When concentrated and delivered to targeted areas of the face, the growth factors they contain trigger a cascade of regenerative activity — stimulating new collagen and elastin production, improving blood supply to the skin, and initiating deep cellular renewal. Because PRP is derived entirely from your own blood there is virtually no risk of allergic reaction, and the results are completely natural — your own skin rebuilding itself from within.

WHAT IT TREATS

PRP Therapy is effective for a wide range of skin concerns including fine lines and early wrinkles; loss of skin firmness and elasticity; dull, tired-looking skin; uneven skin tone; acne scarring and textural irregularities; under-eye hollowness, dark circles, and crepey skin; and general skin quality decline associated with aging, sun damage, or stress. When combined with microneedling it becomes one of the most powerful non-surgical skin renewal treatments available — often called the Vampire Facial — delivering results that are significantly more dramatic than either treatment alone.

HOW IT WORKS

After a small blood draw, your sample is placed into a medical-grade centrifuge that spins at high speed to separate the blood into its components and isolate the platelet-rich plasma. This concentrated PRP contains up to five times the normal level of growth factors. It is then either injected directly into targeted areas of the face using fine needles, applied topically and driven into the skin through microneedling channels, or both. Once delivered, the growth factors in the PRP signal fibroblasts — the cells responsible for collagen production — to begin regenerating tissue. New collagen and elastin form gradually over the following weeks and months, firming the skin and improving its overall quality from deep within.

PERSONALIZED TREATMENT PLANS

Your Avante provider will assess your skin at your consultation and recommend whether PRP alone or PRP combined with microneedling is the most appropriate approach for your concerns and goals. Most clients benefit from an initial series of 3 to 4 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, followed by maintenance sessions every 6 to 12 months. PRP also pairs exceptionally well with our dermal filler and neurotoxin treatments for a comprehensive, all-natural enhancement approach.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your appointment begins with a thorough skin assessment and a small blood draw from your arm — the same as a routine blood test. While your blood is processed in the centrifuge, a topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area for your comfort. Your provider then delivers the PRP through fine needle injections into targeted areas of the face, or applies it in combination with microneedling for enhanced penetration and results. The entire appointment takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes. Following treatment the skin may appear slightly red, swollen, or flushed for 24 to 72 hours, which is a normal part of the healing response. There is no significant downtime and most clients return to normal activities the following day.

LONG-LASTING RESULTS

Initial improvements in skin texture and tone are often noticeable within 3 to 4 weeks of treatment. Full results develop over 3 to 6 months as collagen production reaches its peak. Results from a full series of PRP treatments typically last 12 to 18 months, with some clients enjoying benefits for up to 2 years. Because PRP works by stimulating genuine tissue regeneration — not by adding foreign substances — the results are gradual, completely natural-looking, and deeply satisfying.
